Our Leisure Centres play a fundamental role in our goal to get "More Aucklanders, More Active, More Often". Our aim is to improve the customer experience for all Aucklanders that visit our Centres and for you to oversee the management of our facility. As Stanmore Bay Pool & Leisure Centre Manager, you’ll be managing a large and very community focused facility with six teams - Aquatics, Fitness, Learn to Swim, Customer Support, Recreation and Early Childhood Education.

We’re looking for a proactive leader looking for an opportunity to step in and showcase their ability to lead a team and be the driving force behind delivering a service that meets the needs of the community. Operational excellence and fiscal responsibility are additional key drivers for this role. Not only delivering sustainable financial results but seeking to increase performance and grow the business via continuous improvement initiatives as well as proposing new programmes to target the local needs of our community.


He kōrero mōu: About you


You’ll have experience successfully managing and operating a recreational facility or customer service oriented team, or solid recreation industry experience and a high level of business acumen and commercial focus.  Key to this role will be your excellent leadership and people relationship skills, with an ability to unite teams and bring people together towards achieving goals. You’ll also demonstrate having operated with a strong community focus.


A practical knowledge of business planning, monitoring and operations management will come with you, alongside a proven track record in developing, maintaining and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, ideally from the community sector.
