Here at Auckland Council, our leisure centres play a key role in achieving our goal of getting Auckland to be the most active city in the world. And right now, we’re looking for part-time Learn to Swim Instructors to join our Pool and Leisure Centre teams across Auckland to help achieve that goal!
Based at Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Center, this is a fantastic job where you can gain a formal qualification teaching people the basic principles of how to swim, maintaining a fun, caring and safe environment for customers and visitors - we'll provide the training you need to succeed in the role.
This is a 6-month fixed-term/secondment role until 12/04/2026 and we would love to hear from those who can work 11-hr per week. You will need to attend a 2-week training at West wave during the holiday break. Dates will be confirmed during the interview. Shifts: Tuesday 3.15pm-6.45pm, Wednesday 8.15am-11.15a,m Saturday 8.15am-12.30pm

You are a great swimmer and instructor, have a love of water, have exceptional customer service skills, and can communicate well with members of the public. Just a passion to work with our diverse community while also making a difference.
If you do have a recognised swim teacher qualification or previous experience as a Swimming Instructor, that would be fantastic! However, we will provide full, comprehensive training. You must also be willing to complete First Aid training.
