Join our Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Centre as the Team Leader for Recreation and play a key part in making the experience of our customers fun, safe and enjoyable.
We’re looking for a Recreation Leader to drive excellence across our holiday programmes, term-based recreation activities, and community leagues. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working closely with the community stadium and recreation bookings, and is committed to delivering exceptional programmes that make a real impact.
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day responsibilities of running the Recreation Department, including:
- Initiating service improvements
- Overseeing our OSCAR and holiday programmes
- Lead and innovate across seasonal and term-based recreation programmes.
- Coordinate and grow community leagues and holiday activities.
- Collaborate with stadium and booking teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Champion community engagement and deliver high-quality, inclusive programmes.
He kōrero mōu: About you
You’ll have experience managing a team within the recreation, health or fitness environment and a proven track record in developing & maintaining relationships with a diverse range of internal and external customers. You will be keen to think of, create, and implement new points of excitement, as well as grow and develop our existing programmes.
This is a fixed-term full-time position until 26/02/2026. You will be working 40 hours per week, rostered over 7 days. So, the ability to work early and late shifts, as well as weekends, is crucial in this role.
Preferably a Level 5 NZ Sport or Recreation qualification (or equivalent) and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
