He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Council’s Holiday Parks are seeking a Holiday Park Assistant to join their Orewa Beach Holiday Park team in a permanent part time position (32 hours) . We are seeking a hands-on, versatile, friendly people’s person who are used to a busy work environment, being an effective team member and who can assist with the day-to-day operation of the Holiday Park. You’ll be working closely with an amazing collaborative team to ensure our guests’ have a positive and memorable experience with us.
You could expect to work on:
- Front of house customer service, reception and administrative duties
- Being the face of the business in welcoming, familiarising guests to the park and area
- Answering enquiries and processing online, email, phone and in-person bookings
- Creating customer bookings in software booking system, in putting data, receipting and processing of payments and sales
- Supporting general cleaning duties, assisting in housekeeping and amenities, light grounds / facilities maintenance and operations

The role pays starting from living wage of $29.90 per hour based on skills and proven relevant experience.
He kōrero mōu: About you
You will be confident with administration and reception duties and have experience with cash handling as well as an ability to use your initiative to resolve both operational and maintenance issues as they arise.
We are seeking super stars who have:
- Customer service, administrative/reception experience, with intermediate to above computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite software skills and proficiencies —primarily Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and PMS booking systems
- Excellent communication, oral and written, & problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work rosters (including weekends and public holidays), as a positive team member and autonomously
- Enthusiastic and approachable demeanour with a customer focussed approach, can do attitude and remain calm under pressure or dealing with challenging customers
- Ability and capacity to continually learn new skills, systems and processes quickly
- NZ Full Class 1 drivers licence, physically capable and able of delivering all duties and responsibilities in all seasons and weather conditions
- Hospitality, tourism experience along with practical hands-on cleaning or maintenance background would be advantageous, but not essential.
You will be working, rostered over 7 days. The Park is open 7 days a week including public and school holidays, we are especially busy throughout the summer months, so having the ability to work flexible hours, weekends, public holidays, and additional shifts is required. The role also assists in support across all areas of the operations and the wider portfolio of our other holiday parks and sites as and when required.
