Auckland Council's Pool and Leisure Centres help more people get active and support our goal of making Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland the most active city in the world.

We're looking for a Casual Team Member to join our Recreation team and support our functions at Stanmore Bay Pools and Leisure Centre. 

In this frontline role, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering exceptional customer service to our customers, community groups, and visitors during busy periods
• Supporting the centre with the delivery of a variety of exciting sports and recreational programmes including sporting leagues and daily timetabled programmes 
• Following Health & Safety procedures and administering First Aid as needed
• Understanding all centre operational duties and assisting with relevant administration tasks such as bookings and appointments

This is a casual position. Our centre operates 7 days a week from 5:00am to 9:30pm, so availability to work during the day is essential, along with a willingness to work early, late, and weekend shifts. You must also be available to work throughout the school holiday periods as part of our holiday programme. Shift patterns may vary based on programme and business needs.

We are looking for people who:

• Are passionate about sports and recreation with netball and/or basketball umpiring/refereeing experience.
• Enjoy working with tamariki (children) and can confidently deliver engaging activities and programmes.
• Have gymnastics experience and/or experience supporting people with additional needs (beneficial).
• Have a positive attitude, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills and experience.
• Are friendly, mature, approachable team players who demonstrate initiative, professionalism, accountability, and good judgement.
• Value diversity and inclusion, and are committed to health, safety, and delivering great outcomes.

You will need a First Aid Certificate; however, we will help you obtain one if you do not already have it.

Salary rate: $29.90/hr. *Please also note, our employer KiwiSaver contribution is additional to the base salary offered.
