He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Here at Auckland Council, our leisure centres play a key role in achieving our goal of get Auckland the most active city in the world. And right now, we’re looking for a Team Member to join our ActivZone Indoor Sports Arena.
This role will see you working with community groups across the Auckland region. You will help us deliver an exciting customer service to our community groups.
In this frontline role, your responsibilities will include:
• Delivering exceptional customer service to our customers and visitors during busy public sessions
• Serving food and supporting our Cafe
• Assisting skate session operation
• Following Health & Safety procedures and administering First Aid as needed
• Helping centre management with administration and operational duties, including bookings
• Supporting centre activities including sporting leagues and daily timetabled programmes
For this role, you’ll be rostered to work an 8-hour permanent part-time shift each week on Saturdays, from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

You will already be passionate about sports and recreation and be ready to step into a front-line customer service role.
You will also:
- Be responsible and confident when working with children (previous experience working with children is beneficial but not essential)
- Have a flexible approach and be able to use your initiative to facilitate engaging and suitable programmes for kids
- Have roller-skating experience (preferred)
- Be an enthusiastic team player
- Bring a positive attitude and infectious energy
- Be committed to providing customers with an exceptional experience
- Have an understanding of health and safety
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism in your work
- Hold a First Aid Certificate, or be willing to obtain one (we’ll support you to achieve this if needed)
