He angitūtanga: The opportunity
 

Auckland Council's Building Consents provide local and regional building consenting services to ensure Auckland has safe and sustainable buildings. We ensure there is a strong focus on customer-centric delivery and focus on providing the best business services that we can offer.  As such we are seeking an exceptional Team Leader Project Assessment who will lead, coach and manage our critical regional team looking after some of our most critical work - vetting/lodging of building consent applications.

 

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all territorial and building consent authority accreditation requirements within your area of responsibility, including adherence to BCA policies and procedures. You’ll take the lead in managing and enhancing operational processes to drive customer satisfaction, while supporting and fostering a high performing team.

 

In this role, you can expect to:

 

  • Support and champion continuous improvement initiatives, actively fostering a culture of ongoing development within your team.
  • Provide oversight of building consent application processing, ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services.
  • Share your professional expertise through training, helping to broaden the skills and knowledge of others and support their development as professionals.

You are someone with sound experience in the regulatory field with a strong focus on customer-centric delivery and providing first-rate customer service. You have the ability to view the business as an integrated whole, rather than separate discipline and can apply this thinking to problem-solving and business improvement. You are someone who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and are passionate about building a future for Auckland.

 

We will be looking for specific experience with these key role requirements:

 

  • Substantial experience in a building regulatory, construction, or similarly related environment
  • Experience in a building processing environment.
  • Proven experience managing or supervising a large team.
  • Sound knowledge of policies, local government legislation and relevant case law.
  • Strong process orientation, negotiation and conflict resolutions skills.

This role has a remuneration range of $118,167 – $125,000 (Based on skillset and experience)

 

Our employer Kiwisaver contribution is additional to base salary offered.
