Birkenhead Library is a busy community library serving a diverse and vibrant community. Our library whānau is focused on caring for each other, our community, and our environment.
This 30-hour role is vital for connecting our communities and whānau with services and programmes in the Kaipātiki Local Board libraries. Based in the Birkenhead Library, the role will focus on the needs of our diverse communities to develop partnerships, programmes and services.
He kōrero mōu: About you
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual who can be a champion for our ethnic communities and partners.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Build and maintain relationships with local ethnic communities and develop, deliver, and promote services to these communities
- Support diverse community needs and engage under-served parts of the local communities
- Provide excellent customer service and enjoys providing a high quality day-to-day frontline library service
- Understand and use technology with confidence, able to support customers to successfully use information resources and devices
- Work collaboratively with teams in the Kaipātiki Local Board sharing skills, knowledge and expertise
- Drive and has curiosity to bridge cross-cultural connections and communities.
- Fluency in additional languages is desired but not required.

Salary: This role is salary band E, we expect to appoint the successful candidate at a salary of around $77K depending upon skills & experience.
