He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

Birkenhead Pool & Leisure Centre has a great opportunity for you to further develop your skills in customer interaction, leadership, and facilitation. We are looking for a Recreation Lead, who supports the Recreation Team Leader to help deliver an exciting range of community fitness and school holiday programmes for school students and community groups across the Auckland region based on our leisure centre.

 

As a Recreation Lead, you will play a key role in coaching, mentoring, and supervising team members, ensuring a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment for both staff and customers. You will also help drive continuous improvement in our programmes, supporting the delivery of high-quality experiences across the Auckland region.

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

With your passion for your community, the health or fitness environment, you have a proven track record in developing & maintaining relationships with a diverse range of internal and external customers.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

 

  • An experience with OSCAR programmes
  • First Aid Certificate; however, we will help you attain this if you do not have one already. 
  • Preferably, a full New Zealand driver's licence is, as it may be needed within your day-to-day duties
  • Strong technology skills, including familiarity with Microsoft products
  • The ability to lead and mentor a team while delivering high-quality programmes

 

This is a permanent full-time position. 

You will be working 40 hours per week. Ability to work early and late shifts, as well as weekends, is crucial in this role. See roster below:

  • Standard Roster: Sunday 9:45 - 18:15, Monday - Thursday 12:00 - 20:30

This may change to Monday - Friday 8:00 - 16:30 during School holidays and during our summer EOTC (Education outside the classroom) operations.
