He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Local boards play a significant role, working across communities with their focus on arts and culture, community services, parks and recreation, economic development, the environment, infrastructure, and place-shaping activities.
We are seeking an experienced PA/Office Manager to join our team based out of our Kaipatiki (Glenfield) and Devonport-Takapuna (Takapuna) Local Board offices. Working from home is also an option at times.
In this role you will directly support the Devonport-Takapuna & Kaipatiki Local Board members and the Local Area Manager and at times will demonstrate flexibility to work across the wider northern local board team.
Reporting to the Local Area Manager, you will provide comprehensive administration assistance and support the effective operation of the team with office management services. This includes information technology, office maintenance, stationery management, security requirements, health and safety, procurement and purchasing and calendar management.
This is a busy and varied role providing support to local board members enquiries, liaising with council departments to help respond to residents, community groups and external organisations and maintain the smooth running of the local board offices.
He kōrero mōu: About you
Your background will demonstrate previous experience in similar administration support, office management or personal assistant roles that have provided you with the ability to juggle and prioritise tasks.
Excellent political acumen or awareness as well as experience in interacting and building relationships with a wide range of people, including elected members, senior managers, and members of the public would be beneficial to this role.
You will be well-presented and personable, demonstrating a level of confidence and determination to keep the wheels moving, while remaining unwaveringly calm under pressure. As a motivated team player, you enjoy providing high level professional secretarial, administrative and coordination services that support the work programmes and aspirations of our communities.
