He angitūtanga: The opportunity
An opportunity has arisen to work as a Library & Council Services Assistant in the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board Libraries, based at Devonport Community Library. This role requires flexibility, as you may need to work across other sites within the local board: Takapuna Library.
Devonport Community Library is a busy library that serves a diverse and vibrant community. Our library whānau is committed to caring for each other, our community, and our environment. We are looking for a flexible, all-round team player to join our high-achieving, cohesive, and dynamic team. In this role, you will support the team and contribute to the day-to-day operations of the library. As a front-facing customer service position, you will be assisting customers from all walks of life.
Many of our libraries operate seven days a week, so flexibility with working hours—including weekends and late nights—is essential. We are looking to fill a 16-hr permanent part-time role. This position specifically requires availability for weekend shifts, particularly on Saturdays and Sundays.

You will have strong people skills, are flexible and adaptable to our library environment. You have a passion for customer service with a positive attitude towards serving people of all ages and backgrounds. You are eager to learn new skills and thrive in a busy work environment.

- Is reliable, enjoys fostering great relationships with our community
