He angitūtanga: The opportunity
You’ll be joining our Birkenhead Pool and Leisure Centre as the Team Leader of Learn to Swim and Customer Support.
The role plays a key part in making the experience of all our customers fun, safe and enjoyable. You’ll be coaching, developing & mentoring team members, and taking the lead on programming and quality lesson delivery. You’ll also oversee the day-to-day operational running of the Learn to Swim programme and customer support team, providing great customer service and problem resolution for our visitors. Moreover, you will be supporting the team with escalations with customer issues and complaints. We want our visitors to feel welcome from the moment they walk through our doors - that first encounter is crucial to ensuring that they will come back again.

You will have customer service management experience; you will thrive on using your initiative to find improved ways of doing things and the opportunity to implement these. You will have a passion for bringing out the best in your team and enjoy building relationships across a diverse range of internal & external customers.
You’ll have a passion for motivating both your team members and our customers to enjoy and gain confidence in swimming and be committed to making the experience of working in and visiting our pools a great one for everyone involved. You’ll also hold a recognised swim teacher qualification with at least 2 years’ experience teaching, First Aid certificate and have experience in delivering lessons across a range of ages and abilities.
It’s a permanent full time role with working in teams and dealing with customers. Working 40 hours per week. Our Pool and Leisure Centre operates a 7-day service, so the ability to work early and late shifts, as well as weekends, is crucial in this role.

Pay rate: $35.25/hr
