Glenfield Pool and Leisure Centre is offering a permanent opportunity for a passionate Learn to Swim Lead to join our vibrant team.  

As the Learn to Swim Lead, you’ll be playing a key part in ensuring a great customer experience for our customers when participating in our Learn to Swim programme and ensuring the development and delivery of programmes and services are maintained at an exceptional standard. 

In this position, you’ll be: 

  • conducting pool deck supervision,
  • assisting with the inducting, training, and development of team members
  • assisting the Team Leader Learn to Swim with rostering and lesson delivery
  • support the day-to-day operational running of the Learn to Swim programme
  • provide great customer service and problem resolution for our customers

This is a permanent part-time 20-hour position, working between Sunday and Thursday. Please note that the shift is subject to change according to the roster and the needs of the centre, so flexibility is essential.

You’ll have a passion for motivating both your team members and our customers to enjoy and gain confidence in swimming. You’ll be committed to making the experience of working in and visiting our pools a great one for everyone involved.

To be successful in this position, you should: 

  • hold a recognised swim teacher qualification, and a First Aid certificate.
  • have at least 1 year of experience in delivering lessons across a range of ages and abilities.
  • Cultural competency and a willingness to engage with te ao Māori and diverse communities
  • Confidence using computers and digital systems
  • Previous experience in team supervision or leadership is also highly desirable.
