He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Our pool and leisure facilities are more popular than ever, and as Lead Lifeguard, for  Albany Stadium Pool you will play a key part in ensuring that all customers not only have a fantastic experience but a safe one. Your main responsibilities will include providing guidance on and supporting the delivery of aquatics-based programmes, general lifeguarding duties to ensure customers are safe and looked after and supporting the Team Leader with day to day operations at the Centre.

It goes without saying that you’ll have a passion for aquatics, and you’ll enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience with customers and colleagues to improve water safety. You will be an excellent communicator, committed to delivering exceptional aquatic programmes and providing a high level of customer satisfaction.  Joining an energetic and passionate team, you’ll be a keen team player with a flexible approach and be able to take initiative to help drive a positive safety culture.

You’ll need to currently hold a First Aid Certificate as well as a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate. As the centre operates 7 days a week, reliability and commitment to working early, late and weekend shifts are crucial.

We have a full-time position available, working 40 hours per week. Rostered over 7 days so the ability to work one day of the weekend is required.
