We're looking for a team player to join our Operations Division at the North Shore Memorial Park.  This cemetery is set in beautifully landscaped grounds with rolling grassy slopes leading to picturesque Lucas Creek. You will be part of a passionate and experienced team who deliver a service that ensures our community's needs are met and exceeded during the most difficult time.


As a Sexton, you will be part of our burial team with a variety of cemetery operational tasks including burial preparation, attending burials, and assisting in the crematorium.


 

He kōrero mōu: About you
 

You will be maintaining the cemetery grounds with your expertise in line trimming, your ability to operate ride-on mowers, adornment management, after burial care, and other general grounds maintenance priorities. You will have digger and excavator experience, and a tractor licence would be highly advantageous.   


Being compassionate, reliable, a team player, along with good communication and proven organisational skills is essential to the smooth running of our burial process, chapel and crematorium facilities. You will be assisting families with parking, advising on any health and safety requirements and most importantly, ensuring families feel comfortable and are well attended to.

Our permanent full time opportunity is 40 hours per week (7-day roster including weekends and public holidays) and overtime as required. All uniforms, training and equipment will be provided, as is on site parking. 


This role is deemed safety sensitive and in line with Auckland Council policy, you will be required to complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
