Here at Auckland Council, our leisure centres play a key role in achieving our goal of get Auckland the most active city in the world. And right now, we’re looking for a Team Member to join our Glenfield Pools and Leisure Centre and ActivZone Indoor Sports Arena.
This role will see you working with community groups across the Auckland region. You will help us deliver an exciting customer service to our community groups.
In this frontline role, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering exceptional customer service to our customers and visitors during busy public sessions
- Serving food and supporting our Cafe
- Assisting skate session operation
- Following Health & Safety procedures and administering First Aid as needed
- Helping centre management with administration and operational duties, including bookings
- Supporting centre activities including sporting leagues and daily timetabled programmes
This is a casual position with flexible hours, including the possibility of evening, weekend,

You will already be passionate about sports and recreation and be ready to step into a front-line customer service role.
You will also be:
- Responsible when it comes to working with children. (While previous experience working with children is beneficial, it is not essential)
- Have a flexible approach and be able to use your initiative to facilitate suitable programmes for kids.
- Be an enthusiastic team player
- Have a positive attitude and infectious energy
- Be committed to providing your customers with an exceptional experience.
- Understand health and safety
- You will be committed to maintaining a high degree of professionalism in your work
- You will need a First Aid Certificate so we will help you attain this if you do not have one already.
