Casual Team Member | Birkenhead Pool and Leisure Centre

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

Situated in our Birkenhead Pool and Leisure Centre, as a Casual Team Member – Recreation Assistant and Customer Support, no two days will be the same! 

In this frontline role, your responsibilities will include, delivering exceptional service to our customers and visitors supporting with the delivery of a variety of exciting holiday programmes for children aged 5-12, helping the Centre maintain a caring, fun and safe fitness and leisure environment, providing assistance to Centre management with administration and operational duties; and supporting with Centre activities including sporting leagues and daily timetabled programmes.

Applicants with the ability to work across Aquatics, Fitness, or Learn to Swim, or those willing to undertake training in these areas are encouraged to apply, as this flexibility is an asset to our team and programs.

You’ll already be passionate about sports and recreation, and ready to step into a frontline customer service role. It goes without saying that you’ll be responsible when it comes to working with children. You’ll have a flexible approach and be able to use your initiative to facilitate suitable programmes for kids. An enthusiastic team player, you’ll have a positive attitude and infectious energy and be committed to providing your customers with an exceptional experience.  

 

Ideally, you’ll hold a First Aid Certificate and have an understanding of health and safety procedures. While previous experience working with children is beneficial, it’s not essential. Importantly, you’ll be committed to maintaining a high degree of professionalism in your work.

Pay rate: $27.80 per hour
