He angitūtanga: The opportunity
An exceptional opportunity to enhance your leadership skills and enjoy an increased sense of job satisfaction and involvement by overseeing the library team in the Parnell Library, working across the Waitematā Local Board. In this position, you will be responsible for guiding our community-oriented staff with strategic people leadership, empowering and developing your team and ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer experiences and a smooth library experience. You also play a role in the wider Waitematā team, working collaboratively to ensure we meet the needs of our community across all our facilities and services.
Your role is to lead staff to build on community participation and engagement. Your collaborative approach and experience will drive the development of external partnerships and grow strong internal relationships. Your passion to succeed will deliver to the Waitematā communities connecting across different cultures and build library and council services that create a sense of belonging.
- Facilitate and grow staff to be comfortable with decision making, autonomy and to feel empowered
- mentoring, upskilling and coaching of staff
- inspiring people to think and act differently to make good things happen
- Lead the development of programmes and events that enhance identity, connect people and build a sense of belonging
- Undertake operational management tasks
