Here at Auckland Council, our leisure centres play a key role in achieving our goal to get Auckland the most active city in the world. And right now, we’re looking for Learn to Swim Instructors to join our Pool and Leisure Centres teams across Auckland, including Glenfield,  to help achieve that goal!


This is a fantastic job where you don’t need any formal qualifications or experience to apply – just a passion to work with our diverse community while also making a difference! We'll provide the training you need to succeed in the role. 
 
He kōrero mōu: About you

 

If you do have a recognised swim teacher qualification or previous experience as a Swimming Instructor, that’s fantastic! However, if you don’t, that’s fine too as we will provide full, comprehensive training that you need to excel in the job. To be considered for this role, you must be willing to complete First Aid Certificate Training, have a love of water, exceptional customer service skills, and able to communicate well with members of the public.

As a Learn to Swim Instructor, you’ll have free access to our facilities, flexible working hours that provides work and life balance, and above all else a fun, supportive team. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing the work you do is important and impactful especially the pride and joy you will get from watching someone gain the confidence that comes from learning how to swim.

 

We have 5 permanent part-time opportunitnities available at our centre. The shifts will be minimum 3 hours in a day and maximum 16 hours in a week. There are AM and PM shifts available and it will include atleast one shift in the weekend.
