He angitūtanga: The opportunity


In this role you will deliver first and second level support for all agreed ICT services, software, communication solutions deployed, resolving a high percentage of requests on first contact.  You will ensure upgrades, maintenance fixes and vendor supplier patches are planned for and implemented efficiently so that systems are secure, well designed, cost effective and supported by our vendors to agreed service levels.


This role reports to the Infrastructure Services Lead and you will be part of the Digital team that provide a range of invaluable IT support services to our employees.


This includes:


  • To support TAU by providing quality technology solutions and services, acting as a trusted advisor, and advocating best practice
  • Accountable for managing and delivering end user support requests in accordance with our service management principles and processes
  • Accountable for the identification, proposal, implementation, testing and training of end user changes, enhancements, and developments
  • Accountable for maintaining the currency of our end user environments, to minimise support and security risks
  • Manage to completion support issues utilising good triage practices including taking guidance from team members, seeking input from the wider ICT team, and escalating to Vendors and/or Senior Management if required
  • On-call services provided for weekend and after-hours support

You will be customer focused, have superior interpersonal skills and be self-motivated. This role will require you to be an expert in your field and to work with minimal supervision. You will have the ability to build strong relationships with those you interact with, and you will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.


  • 3+ years of broad experience in IT
  • Broad knowledge of mainstream Microsoft products (operating systems and applications)
  • Broad knowledge of ICT applications and technical support.
  • Experience with Microsoft AGPM, Active Directory, Azure AD Connect, email mailbox setup and management, SCCM, DNS, DHCP etc. at an enterprise level.
  • Excellent understanding and proven experience in using and managing collaboration spaces (Microsoft Teams / SharePoint)
  • Able to demonstrate implementing continuous improvement principles in a work team or leading a process or system change
  • Full clean drivers license
