He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

This position is based at our Howick Leisure Centre, where you'll help us deliver an exciting range of community fitness and school holiday programmes, and work with school students and community groups across the Auckland region. 
  
In this frontline role, your responsibilities will include the following: 

  • Delivering exceptional customer service to our customers and visitors 
  • Supporting with the delivery of a variety of exciting programmes for children aged 5-13
  • Helping the centre maintain a caring, fun, and safe fitness and leisure environment. 
  • Helping centre management with administration and operational duties 
  • Supporting centre activities including sporting leagues and daily timetabled programmes 

 

We have a casual position available with opportunities for hours over the weekend to facilitate classes but it is subject to change according to the roster and the needs of the centre so flexibility is essential.
 

He kōrero mōu: About you 

You will already be passionate about sports and recreation and be ready to step into a frontline customer service role.

 

You will also be: 

  • Having experience with Basketball and/or Gymnastics would be advantageous in this role.
  • Responsible when it comes to working with children. (While previous experience working with children is beneficial, it is not essential) 
  • Have a flexible approach and be able to use your initiative to facilitate suitable programmes for kids.  
  • Be an enthusiastic team player. 
  • Have a positive attitude and infectious energy. 
  • Understand health and safety 
  • Having experience facilitating basketball games would be advantageous in this role.

 

Importantly, you’ll be committed to maintaining a high degree of professionalism in your work.

 

You will need a First Aid Certificate; however, we will help you attain this if you do not have one already.
