He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Our pool and leisure facilities are more popular than ever and as Lifeguard for Lloyd Elsmore Pool and Leisure Centre, you will play a key part in ensuring that all customers not only have a fantastic experience but a safe one. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing to all pool users with quality supervision to ensure health and safety standards are upheld;
  • Providing customers and colleagues with accurate information on pool policies, Centre facilities, and aquatic safety; and
  • Supporting the delivery of Centre programmes and classes.

He kōrero mōu: About you
You'll have a passion for aquatics but also excellent communication skills, maturity, and resilience. You'll be making a difference in our local community by motivating people to be active while helping to provide a safe environment in which to do so. Being practically minded as you spot people in difficulty and using your initiative will be key. 


Previous experience as a Lifeguard is advantageous, but if you’re a confident swimmer looking to upskill, we can support you with training.


This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working 40-hour per week. Our centre operates 7 days a week, so reliability and commitment to working early, late and weekend shifts are crucial.
