He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

Ngā Pātaka Kōrero o Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland Libraries) have a strong community focus, and we are an extraordinary destination for the people of Auckland. Our Library & Council Services Assistants play a vital part within our library team ensuring that our libraries within the Howick​ local board, provide a world-class customer experience that is second to none. No two days are the same, you will greet and assist customers with a variety of queries from assisting customers to access library & council services, supporting with the delivery of programmes and events, digital troubleshooting, Wi-Fi, and general computer queries.

 

Many of our libraries are open 7 days a week so flexibility around working days, including weekends and late nights, is required. We are looking to fill 5 permanent part-time positions at Botany, Highland Park, and Howick, but the ability to work throughout the local board which includes Pakuranga is essential. Hours available below:

 

  • Botany Library - 1 x 16 hours per week (Ideally, both Saturday and Sunday, discussion on flexibility of days would require at least 1 weekend day minimum)
  • Highland Park Community Library – 2 x 16 hours per week (Ideally, would require either 1 weekend or 2 weekend days but flexibility may be required)
  • Howick Community Library – 2 x 16 hours per week
    • Saturday (10.30AM-4PM), Wednesday (12PM-6PM), and Friday (11.30AM-5PM)
    • Sunday (10.30AM-4PM), Monday (12PM-6PM), Thursday (12PM - 6PM)
