We are looking for an experienced community programme coordinator who loves working alongside community to co-design and develop high-impact programmes and experiences that support individuals and whanau to thrive. This role is a 12 moth fixed term position, in which you will be responsible for community programme activation in the Wairoa subdivision of Franklin specifically the Beachlands suburb.


This role will work closely with our other Senior Programmers and as a collective will champion the department programming toolkit and oversee the strategic planning and coordination of Franklin Community Hub programmes across the Franklin Local Board area.


You could expect to work on:
•    Delivering and promoting community programmes and events
•    Building relationships with local iwi, and community groups
•    Supporting outreach, co-design, and inclusive service delivery
•    Championing te reo Māori and cultural responsiveness
•    Supporting customers with digital library and council resources

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

You have experience working with the community to develop programmes that drive high-level participation and satisfaction. You are culturally competent and can facilitate engaging hui with people from all walks of life including rangatahi/youth. You will be a key contact for community partners, and from time to time may act as the liaison between customers, community and council services. There is a need to understand the impact of programmes on frontline place-based staff in the wider team so you must have strong communication and relationship building skills to navigate interactions with both internal and external stakeholders. You have knowledge and experience using project management methodologies and can demonstrate confidence in managing multiple projects and timelines. Experience in a similar role within large, complex and political environment is preferred.
