He angitūtanga: The opportunity

The Digital Marketing Advisor is one of 13 positions in Auckland Zoo’s Brand Experience and Business Development department, and one of four positions within the busy Marketing team. Working closely with the Marketing Advisor, Marketing Manager and Content & Social Media Manager, the Digital Marketing Advisor will provide advice and expertise in three key areas:


  • Digital analytics and strategic recommendations
  • Technical expertise (for all online and digital applications for all admin departments)
  • Digital marketing optimisation including automation, SEM and paid advertising for always on and campaign delivery


This is a hands-on role helping to deliver the Zoo’s digital marketing strategy and will help to support multiple departments within the Zoo including ticketing, membership, conservation learning, experiences, retail and events.

He kōrero mōu: About you
You will be someone who is passionate about wildlife and cares deeply about the world around you. You will be highly motivated and will want to use your exceptional digital expertise, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills to make a real difference.


If you’re the right person for this role you will ideally have:

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing or similar, and at least 3-5 years’ experience in tactical digital marketing roles
  • High levels of expertise using CMS, Salesforce and email marketing tools including automation
  • Google Advertising Certified and proven experience utilising digital marketing channels including social advertising
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Experience working with ICT developers and ICT projects
  • Excellent time management and personal organisational skills
  • Experience working in an e-commerce environment is an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
