He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Council’s Waste Solutions department has two casual opportunities for Customer Services Representatives within the Refuse Transfer Station team. 
 
Please note – These are two Casual On Call roles created specifically to pick up more shifts on a regular basis.
You must be flexible to Cover Leave/Sick leave Mon to Sunday 7 days Operations.
We operate Monday-Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday-Sunday 8am to 4pm.
 
Reporting to the Weigh Bridge Team Leader you will assist with the smooth running and daily operation of the Weighbridge at the Refuse Transfer Station by providing support services, which include reception administration, financial transaction duties and bringing lovely customer service experiences as you will be the face of the site.
 
Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

  • Receive, and direct all visitors and customers
  • Assess and weigh loads; receive and receipt payments; input weights, etc. and collate documentation for reporting purposes
  • Provide support to Operations Manager when the Team Leader is not available. On call may be required when standing in for the Team Leader
  • Relay information between contractors, visitors, customers, and council staff with regards to day-to-day operational matters including the use of RT and Intercom communication systems

This role requires experience in similar customer service-related roles, with a sound understanding of working with customers in a front facing fashion. 
 
We will be looking for specific experience with:

  • Customer Service experience to ensure that the customers and stakeholders are a driving force behind decision making and activities
  • Implementing service practices that meet or exceed customers’, stakeholders and own organisation’s needs
  • Good time management skills with ability to prioritise workload
  • Utilising good communications & listening skills
  • Ability to work as a team member or autonomously
  • Full NZ Drivers License preferred
