Auckland Botanic Gardens is seeking friendly and motivated Visitor Services Representatives for three roles
The Auckland Botanic Gardens are open to the public seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays. This role involves a 7-day work week, with rostered shifts that may fall on any day of the week to ensure coverage across the Gardens’ operating hours.
Typical shifts run from 7:30am to 5:00pm, though flexibility is essential, as weekend and public holiday availability will be required. You’ll be part of a team that shares rostered duties, so a collaborative mindset and a passion for engaging with people in a public-facing environment are key.
We are currently hiring for:
X1 Fixed term part time role covers 5 shifts per fortnight across a 7 day roster through to 15th April 2026
X2 Casual staff roles paying $28.50 per hour from 5th November 2025 through to 15th May 2026

In this role, you’ll be part of a team that supports the day-to-day operations of the Auckland Botanic Gardens and enhances the visitor experience
Key responsibilities include:
- Reception duties – greeting visitors, providing information, and offering recommendations to enhance their experience
- Managing communications – handling incoming calls and emails to the Gardens
- Supporting plant displays – assisting with the care and presentation of plant displays in the Visitor Centre
- Community engagement – supporting education programmes, guided tours, and other public-facing activities
