Parks & Community Facilities is a department within the Customer and Community Directorate, and has the privilege and commitment to ensure community assets are fit for purpose, delivering outstanding community experiences and outcomes for Aucklanders. As kaitiaki (guardian) of facilities, we play a vital role in facilitating the wider social, economic, environmental and cultural outcomes that promote the wellbeing of our communities.
He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Our department manages all community assets ranging from open spaces to community buildings across the Auckland region. As our Contract Performance Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing a number of Full Facilities and Technical operations contracts. These are of significant value and importance in making sure the maintenance of our parks, opens spaces and assets is in line with contract specifications.
You’ll lead a small team of contract managers and audit leads whose role it is to ensure all contractors deliver, performance is monitored and measured and that non-performance is managed.
There’s a definite improvement aspect threaded throughout the role – where you’ll look for and deliver improved return on investment and improved performance on all your Operations contracts.

With solid and extensive experience in contracts management and in a contract management environment, you’ll have the depth and breadth of experience in contract management that includes negotiation, procurement and supplier relationship management.
You’ll have no problem in demonstrating your ability to take the lead in developing effective and collaborative relationships and work practices with an array of stakeholders, contractors and customers.
Financial acumen will come with you, as well as a good understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
