We are looking for a passionate and experienced people leader to join our dedicated Central City leadership team of five, as we shape the vision for the Central City Hub, creating safer places for people to participate in, meet, connect and enjoy civic life in the Central City.

 

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity leading a team of 12-15, based in Central City Library with some flexibility around working hours.

 

Day to day you and your team will be responsible for:

  • Delivering a wide range of responsive services and programs for Aucklanders in the Central City.
  • Supporting the design and implementation of service improvement initiatives.
  • Managing relationships and supporting regional teams, GLAM sector, and Central City stakeholders.
  • Liaising with Iwi and wider council whanau to strengthen strategic outcomes.
  • Planning, promoting, evaluating, and reporting on the services provided.

We’re looking for someone who will be able to hit the ground running, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

 

  • Leadership and Team Development: Proven ability to lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team.
  • Community Engagement and Partnership Building: Experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and engaging with the community to meet their evolving needs.
  • Programme Planning and Service Innovation: Strong skills in planning, executing, and evaluating community programmes and events, with a focus on service innovation and improving customer experiences.
  • Communication and Relationship Management: Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to manage relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse groups and individuals.

This role is a band G, we are expecting to appoint the successful applicant at a salary of between $87- $102k per annum, depending upon experience.
