He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Parks & Community Facilities is a department within the Community Directorate, and has the privilege and commitment to ensure community assets are fit for purpose, delivering outstanding community experiences and outcomes for Aucklanders. As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities while also delivering strategically significant programmes.

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Systems Coordinator to join our Business Systems and Processes team, part of the wider Business Performance Unit in Parks and Community Facilities. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting our Area Operations teams by making sure the systems behind our services — especially SAP — run smoothly, accurately, and efficiently.

Your day-to-day will involve coordinating maintenance work orders, helping ensure customer requests are actioned promptly, and supporting the teams on the ground to use SAP effectively. You’ll also keep an eye on dashboards and system data, making sure everything is accurate and up to date so that operational teams have the insights they need to deliver for our communities.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with systems, likes being the go-to person for problem-solving, and thrives in a role where accuracy and collaboration make a real difference to frontline service delivery. If you’re organised, responsive, and ready to contribute to a high-performing team that supports the heart of our local parks and community services — this could be the role for you.

He kōrero mōu: About you

We’re looking for someone who’s confident, organised, and brings a calm, solutions-focused approach to a busy environment. You’ll be someone who knows how to manage competing priorities, stay on top of deadlines, and work under pressure without losing sight of the details. You’ll have the confidence to engage with a range of internal stakeholders, ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently across the board.

Ideally, you’ll bring at least a couple of years’ experience working with SAP or a similar ERP system, and you’ll be comfortable navigating Microsoft tools like Excel, Word, and Outlook. But just as importantly, you’ll be proactive, self-motivated, and take real ownership of your work.

You’ll be joining a team of diverse dedicated and respected experts working collaboratively across the region, who are passionate about delivering tangible results for the community and future generations.

In return for your hard work, you can expect a flexible and supportive work environment. Ehara taku toa, he takitahi, he toa takitini My success is not mine alone, but the success of many.
