He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Council’s The Chief Sustainability Office has opportunities for Sustainability and Resilience Advisors to join our team.
You will focus on implementing our climate goals and Te Tāruke-ā-Tāwhiri: Auckland’s Climate Plan.
You could expect your work to include:
- producing evidenced based analysis and advice
- engaging and influencing others to embed and accelerate climate action
- collaborating to deliver climate mitigation and adaptation projects
- greenhouse gas emissions reporting and data analysis
He kōrero mōu: About you
This role requires demonstrated experience in advisory roles such as strategy and policy, sustainability and climate resilience spaces. You will have experience in similar roles within large, complex, or political organisations.
You will need the flexibility to adapt and develop as the environment evolves and ability to respond to changing needs.
We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:
- organising change programmes and engagement processes
- research, strategic thinking and advice
- proactively engaging with operational teams, stakeholders and public organisations.
- strong data analysis skills with a high proficiency in MS Excel and Power BI. Organisational greenhouse gas accounting experience is highly desirable for one of the roles
- strong verbal and written communication skills
We are also looking for a collaborator and someone who loves climate data, information, insights and reporting.

This role has a remuneration range of $93,000 to $104,000
Our employer Kiwisaver contribution is additional to base salary offered.
