He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

This role presents a great opportunity to be part of team transforming how we provide community services to Aucklanders. Part of the newly formed Regional Services and Strategy department, this team is focussed on providing evidence-based advice to support our community services continuing to be well used by Aucklanders.

As a Strategic Service Planner, you’ll be part of a team developing an overarching strategic plan, supporting decision makers with robust advice, and working with delivery teams to enable us to deliver differently. 

You’ll be developing the thinking around and providing sustainable investment advice, in consideration of a range of factors that are and will influence the provision of community services and assets.

He kōrero mōu: About you

We’d like to see a degree in planning, policy, law, commerce or similar, and you’ll have experience in providing advice in a changing environment on complex issues. Ideally, you’ll be able to demonstrate experience in providing advice to and working with elected decision-makers or have experience in working within a political context.


You’ll be able to interpret and distil a wide range of complex information, and present information in a readily digestible form across various channels, from report writing to presentations.
