He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Council’s Policy department has an opportunity for a Strategic Advisor to join the Strategic Advice team.
This is a critical role for the Council and will focus on the Auckland Plan 2050 which sets a 30-year direction for Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland to ensure we can meet the opportunities and challenges of the future.
You could expect to work on:
- monitoring progress of the Auckland Plan 2050
- horizon and environmental scanning to identify drivers of change
- collecting and analysing data and information to support advice to decision-makers
- identifying consultation opportunities in relation to central government reform
- keeping information produced by the team accessible and up-to-date
He kōrero mōu: About you
This role requires experience in the public policy, economics, or resource management space or a related discipline. You have experience in similar roles within large, complex, or political organisations.
We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:
- critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- ability to build relationships and work collaboratively
- ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines, with attention to detail
- strong written and oral communication skills
- appreciation of the local government environment
