We’re recruiting for a Storeroom Coordinator to join Auckland Zoo’s Brand Experience & Business Development team. This role is central to the smooth and efficient running of the Zoo Shop, ensuring products are received, checked, priced, stored, and organised with accuracy and care. You’ll also assist with packing and shipping online orders, supporting regular stocktakes, and working closely with the Visitor Experience & Engagement team to keep the shop well-stocked and ready to deliver an exceptional visitor experience. If you’re organised, detail-focused, and keen to play a behind-the-scenes role in supporting one of the Zoo’s most vibrant customer touchpoints, we’d love to hear from you.

 

This role may require flexible hours and serving as a point of contact for other staff working outside standard schedules.

This is an entry-level opportunity suited to someone who is reliable, eager to learn, and ready to build their career in a fast-paced retail environment. Key strengths include strong attention to detail, good organisation, and the ability to manage time and tasks effectively. You’ll be comfortable working independently, while also contributing positively to a team. A proactive mindset, good communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 25kg are important, along with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and identify when support is needed.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • NCEA Level 1 (minimum requirement)
  • A current NZ driver’s licence is preferred
  • Some experience in retail or storeroom operations ideal for this entry-level role
