He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

 

Auckland Council’s Resilience & Infrastructure division has an opportunity for a Stakeholder & Partnerships Specialist to join the Stakeholder & Partnerships team. 

 

This is a critical role for the Council, focusing on building strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders, partners, and customers while delivering transparent, effective engagement on key initiatives. 

 

This hybrid role is based three days a week at our Albert Street office, with two days working from home. This is a fixed term opportunity ending 10/09/2027.

 

This role will see you: 

  • Design and deliver stakeholder engagement and communications strategies that drive trust and collaboration 
  • Partner with subject matter experts to deliver clear, accessible communications initiatives across multiple channels  
  • Build and maintain influential relationships across government, industry and community sectors 
  • Support Māori Outcomes initiatives with culturally responsive approaches 
  • Advise on stakeholder engagement for change and improvement projects 

 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you 

 

You’ll bring proven experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development within large, complex, or political environments. 

 

We are looking for someone with: 

  • A background in communications or engagement 
  • Experience in the public sector, or engaging with industry and/or community stakeholders 
  • 5+ years’ experience managing stakeholders in complex or political environments 
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong political/organisational acumen 
  • Commitment to te ao Māori and culturally responsive engagement
