As our Senior Sustainability Assets Advisor, you will be part of the Climate Innovation & Sustainability team at Auckland Unlimited assisting the team with the development and implementation of strategies and policies like the Auckland Plan and Te Tāruke-ā- Tāwhiri: Auckland’s Climate Plan, that enhance sustainability and climate change outcomes for Auckland Unlimited.

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

You will lead optimisation and efficiency projects across Auckland Unlimited assets which meet reduction targets and contributes to climate resilience. These projects will include asset adaptation, greenhouse gas (GHG) data and collection oversight and target setting, emissions reductions initiatives, water efficiency, energy efficiency and waste minimisation initiatives. In some cases, these will need establishment and others will be continued contributions and optimisation.

 

Key areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Working in collaboration with facility managers to monitor, implement and deliver initiatives for the assets which will meet GHG emission reduction targets, reduce waste to landfill and increase energy and water efficiency

  • Provide support in the development of an adaptation plan for Auckland Unlimited Assets and services, ensuring targets and benefits are reviewed and reported on. Prepare and maintain accurate project records, including a project execution plan, financial and timeline.

  • Lead knowledge sharing and capability building data, initiatives and how they are contributing to reductions.

  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and technical skills in greenhouse gas emissions reduction, waste minimisation and energy efficiency along with an understanding of te ao Māori in relation to sustainability.

 

With your excellent written communication and presentation skills your agility to work across each facility and different business units to manage a diverse programme of work, you will be comfortable representing Auckland Unlimited in discussions across the wider Auckland Council Group.

 

Ideally, you will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree qualification, master’s degree preferred, with 5-7 years experience in a sustainability, environmental management, or equivalent role.  A tertiary qualification in programme and/or project management (e.ge Prince 2, PMP, CAPM, C3Pm or equivalent) is also highly desirable.
