Auckland Council’s Policy department has an opportunity for a Senior Strategist to join the Natural Environment Strategy team.
This is a key role for the Council and will focus on providing high quality strategic advice to internal and external decision-makers across environmental domains. Use your strategy and policy skills and environmental knowledge across a wide breadth of topics.
You could expect to work on:
- recommending how we manage our natural environment in an integrated way

- sound understanding of environmental issues in the Auckland context given other policy drivers (such as productivity and growth, and land use in general)
- influential approaches for resource management where non-regulatory approaches play a significant role
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to produce quality written reports, presentation material and strategic analysis
- geospatial experience and a practical understanding and use of geospatial tools (including geospatial or graphics skillsets)
We still encourage you to apply if you have some, but not all these requirements.
