Our Corporate Support Services department currently has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Security Specialist to join the team.  You will support the health, safety and wellbeing of our people and all Aucklanders, by playing a crucial role in the Physical Security Advisory Services team who are responsible for providing security services advice and expertise across the organisation, ensuring the physical safety of employees and the security of our buildings. 
 
This role will see you working with the leadership of Council’s Physical Security Advisory Services team, to assist in developing processes and practices to improve security safety. Your leadership and expertise in the field will be key in the development of the direction of the team. You’ll also be managing projects and acting as the team’s representative on Council projects, ensuring that security is factored into the design process.
As a key representative of the team, being across current security trends and risk management is a must.
 
He kōrero mōu: About you
 
You have a strong security background likely gained from time spent in the police or a similar field. This experience has ingrained your discipline, common sense and practical know how with the ability to work effectively alone or within a team. You have significant experience in incident investigation, conducting security reviews and operational planning. Your communication skills are polished and you’re at ease writing and collating reports and presenting to a variety of audiences.
An in-depth understanding of physical security practices, managing investigations, interpreting relevant legislation and risk management is crucial.As well as your extensive (at least 10 years) experience in the security field/Police, you would ideally have a relevant qualification in a security-related field, as well as a full, clean drivers licence.
