Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is a cultural leader in Aotearoa New Zealand. We strengthen and enrich our communities through art and ideas. We offer inspiring art experiences that engage and challenge diverse audiences. We have a collection of 18,000 artworks and a very active exhibition and loans program.

We are looking for an outgoing Senior Retail Assistant to join our gallery shop based in the CBD. In this busy role, you will be part of our passionate and knowledgeable team, driving sales and providing a top-notch visitor experience. This role requires you to actively supervise and motivate staff with a positive problem-solving attitude.

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

You must have proven supervisor and retail sales experience with drive and ambition to achieve sales targets. Providing manaakitanga to both visitors and the retail team on a day-to-day basis requires authenticity, resilience and empathy. You will also have excellent communication skills, a genuine interest in customers and the ability to adapt to different situations. You’ll need to be flexible and able to prioritise multiple responsibilities including transactions, enquiries, visual merchandising and assisting with stock deliveries.

Interest, education or work experience in the arts is beneficial, however, not essential. What's vital is that you bring your passion for connection, working as a team and the confidence to educate customers on our unique range of New-Zealand-made items, publications and design products.

This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours, Tuesday to Saturday.

Pay rate:  Band D 

 

The salary range for this role is $57,824-$68,000k per annum, based on skillset and experience.
