He angitūtanga: The Opportunity
As a Senior Regulatory Support Officer in Building Consents, you will collaborate closely with your peers and Team Leader to help achieve our business objectives. This role will see you supporting your Team Leader in upskilling and assisting your colleagues across various building consent processes, from lodgement to issuance, ensuring that our services are delivered in compliance with statutory requirements.
Day-to-day you could expect to work on:
- Ensuring the accuracy and consistency of system data, including data analysis, data cleaning, and reporting
- Applying a process-driven approach to identify and resolve discrepancies in the system, ensuring data integrity
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery
- Identifying training opportunities to support RSO upskilling and development, across the team.
- Providing support for end-to-end process management.
- Maintaining effective stakeholder relationships within Building Consent Department.
- Identifying training opportunities to support upskilling, training, and development for RSOs to grow within the team
- Supporting and maintaining statutory timeframe SLAs across Regional WIPs
- Delivering on the customer promise - Responding to internal/external Service Level agreements as per the times mentioned in ‘Team Objectives.’

Naturally, you will be confident in facilitating workflow to colleagues and assisting them with issues when they arise. You will have an eye for detail. You will be used to working within high-pressure environments, being adaptable and working well to meet targets. Ideally, you will have at least 5 years of experience working in business administration /customers service role. A previous background in regulatory and knowledge of the Building Act 2004 is desirable.
You will be an enthusiastic individual with an overall positive attitude, who is self-motivated. Works well as an individual as well as in a team and can create a positive environment. You will be a shining example of our high-performing behaviours and support building a cohesive connection within our team.
We will be looking for specific experience with these key role requirements:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Detail oriented, customer focused, and committed to maintaining a high standard of accuracy in all tasks.
- Experience managing financial account reconciliations, customer disputes, and interim billing processes.
- Proven ability to train and upskill peers in line with internal policies and procedures.
- Proficient in working with complex databases and information, with strong competency in Microsoft Office, CRM, SAP, and Hybris systems.
