He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Council has a 12-month fixed term opportunity for a Senior Project Officer to join the Governance Capability team.
This is a critical role for Governance and Engagement and will focus on supporting the onboarding of our elected members for the new term.
You could expect to work on:
- leading the planning and delivery of key learning events, including our all member symposium
- working with others in Governance and subject matter experts across the organisation to update content for use in learning sessions and making it available online
- working with the team to improve the design and implementation our elected member learning programme to ensure it is sustainable and effective over the electoral term.
He kōrero mōu: About you
This role requires experience working in governance or local government and the ability to interpret and communicate complex information.
We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:
- strong understanding of local government decision-making and experience in a programme, advisory or governance-related role
- good project or organisational skills
- sound judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
