Our Commercial and Business Development team is focused on delivering major commercial projects across Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU), supporting the organisation to drive beneficial outcomes for the organisation and Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. 
 
He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager (SPM) to join our Commercial and Business Development team as we work on a number of incredible projects across our wide ranging and interesting portfolio of venues and activities. This includes working on projects in the film studios, stadiums and events, venues, and property related development opportunities.
 
The SPM is a senior role reporting to the General Manager of Commercial and Business Development. The key purpose of this role is the effective delivery of initiatives and projects that are managed by the TAU Commercial Business Development team.
  
Activities this role includes, but are not limited to: 

  • Take overall responsibility for the planning and delivery of an assigned programme of projects and overseeing the successful delivery of key projects.
  • Support the GM Commercial and Business Development in developing and managing a clear portfolio delivery strategy.
  • Successfully manage the prioritisation of programme initiatives in conjunction with key stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage dependencies and interdependencies across other portfolios, working closely with other Senior Project Managers to develop an organisation-wide view.
  • Lead negotiations with public and private sector partners to secure project funding.

He kōrero mōu: About you
To be successful in this role, you will have strong project management experience with a commercial lens, ideally coming equipped with 10 years’ relevant experience. 
 
We will be looking for specific competencies and experience, such as the below: 

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional project teams incorporating internal and external project partners and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and abilities, as you’ll develop and maintain effective relationships and credibility with senior management and a wide range of project stakeholders.
  • You are commercially, financially and politically astute providing you with the ability to see where opportunities and potential risks lie ahead of time.
  • Experience in business case development.
  • An ability to think strategically and analytically, translating ideas and concepts into tangible actions.
  • High degree of judgement including the ability to prioritise across competing objectives and to actively manage a range of stakeholders and suppliers.
