Auckland Council’s Recovery Office has an opportunity for a fixed-term, full-time Senior Project Coordinator to join the Storm-Affected Land team until end June 2026. This role is based in the city centre with some flexibility subject to requirements of the role.
As a Senior Project Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the Storm-Affected Land team to deliver critical recovery outcomes. This senior position provides high-level coordination across multiple workstreams, ensuring effective communication, risk management, procurement, and reporting. Working closely with internal and external partners, you’ll help drive the successful delivery of project objectives while maintaining structure, consistency, and momentum across the programme.
You could expect to work on:
• Coordinate procurement activities in accordance with Auckland Council's policies, including raising service agreements, goods receipting, and managing shopping carts in SAP.
• Prepare high-quality reports and project documentation, presenting complex information in a clear and meaningful way for both internal and external audiences.
• Maintain robust document and records management systems, ensuring internal approvals, decisions, and processes are accurately recorded and aligned with organisational standards

You’re a highly organised and proactive professional with a strong background in coordination, stakeholder engagement, and project support. With experience in procurement processes and report writing, you bring a sharp eye for detail and the ability to navigate complexity with confidence. Your strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enable you to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from internal teams to external partners.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a calm, solution-focused mindset to high-pressure situations. A natural relationship builder, you take ownership of your work and contribute positively to team outcomes.
We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:
• Knowledge of the New Zealand housing and sustainable space would be highly desirable
• 2-3 years of experience in coordination roles within complex, compliance-driven environments.
• Proven track record of strong administration support, report writing skills and stakeholder management
• Extensive experience of knowledge management and data analysis
• Highly organised and outcomes driven and able to make quality decisions in a challenging dynamic setting.
