He kōrero mō mātou | About Us

Amotai is Aotearoa’s supplier diversity intermediary, connecting Māori and Pasifika-owned businesses with buyers seeking goods, services, and works. We maintain a national directory of verified businesses and support buyers to diversify their supply chains. Amotai — meaning the swell in the tide — symbolises collective progress, driving sustainable business opportunities that support a more prosperous Auckland region and a more equitable New Zealand economy.

Te hiranga o tēnei mahi | Why this role matters

We’re looking for a Senior Projects Coordinator to join Amotai on a 12-month fixed-term basis and support the delivery of high-quality engagement events and online training that grow the reach and impact of supplier diversity. This role plays an important part in bringing people together — connecting buyers, Māori and Pasifika suppliers, sponsors, partners, and stakeholders through well-planned, meaningful events.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Manage a programme of Amotai events and training, including planning, coordination, communications, resourcing, and milestone reporting.
  • Deliver end-to-end event logistics for in-person events, webinars, and workshops, including run sheets, venues, online platforms, catering, AV, accessibility, budgets, and on-the-day coordination.
  • Act as a key contact for Māori and Pasifika suppliers, buyers, sponsors, and internal teams before, during, and after events.
  • Support event content and impact storytelling, including speaker briefs, themes, question lines, feedback, attendance data, leads, and post-event reporting.
  • Create event communications such as invitations, registration pages, reminder emails, social content, and post-event updates in collaboration with marketing and communications teams.
  • Maintain accurate data, CRM and event records, and contribute to post-event reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future programming.

He kōrero mōu: About you

This role will suit a highly organised and relationship-focused coordinator with strong project and event management skills. You’ll be confident working across multiple priorities, navigating complexity, and responding quickly when plans shift. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted partnerships are essential, particularly when working with Māori and Pasifika whānau and ‘aiga, government, business, and community stakeholders. You’ll bring political awareness, empathy, and a good understanding of the strengths and challenges experienced by communities facing inequity, along with a solution-focused mindset and the confidence to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A current full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence; a relevant tertiary qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • At least 3 years’ relevant event experience, including end-to-end event or project/programme coordination.
  • Proven experience managing event budgets, logistics, and multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated capability engaging with Māori and/or Pacific peoples, communities, and organisations in culturally appropriate ways.
  • Confident use and speed in using digital tools such as Microsoft excel, Eventbrite, Gmail suite and Microsoft Office.
