The Unique Experiences team is responsible for creating a world class offer of events, displays, and activations that are unique to Central City Library. From debate & discussions, to clothes swaps, to workshops, to ping-pong tournaments, to interactive installations – we aspire to create unmissable experiences for customers that connect them with new knowledge and the wider Auckland community.


He kōrero mōu: About you

As Senior Library Assistant in you will be providing valuable support to deliver a range of events, installations, and experiences to the people of Auckland. This role particularly focuses on supporting displays and visual offers within the library, bringing to life the vision of Central City Library as an exciting place to visit where there’s lots to see and explore. You will be a proactive person who can be trusted to complete tasks and have an excellent eye for detail. You will be eager to get involved, put your hand up to assist, and provide support to the team in achieving its focus and goals.

Alongside this work you’ll also participate in the day-to-day running of a busy library, from assisting customers to access library services to digital trouble shooting. As a senior member of the Frontline cohort, you will also take on supervisory duties when required. This exciting role would suit someone who provides a level of customer service that is second to none.


Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer

This is a permanent part time opportunity working 38 hours per week on a variable schedule. Our library is open seven days a week so flexibility around working hours including Saturdays and late nights is required.
