He angitūtanga: The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for someone to join our team as a Senior Librarian Children and Youth in the Devonport Takapuna Local Board area.  You'll be engaging with customers in the library, making it easy for them to access the various library resources that are available and ensuring that they have an unforgettable experience at the library.
 
This role is vital for connecting children, youth, families and whānau with services and programmes in the Devonport Takapuna Local Board libraries. Mainly based at Takapuna, you will support the day to day operation and provide opportunities to engage the community in the design of new service initiatives targeting children, youth and families.  A key aspect of this role is being a role model and coach in providing great customer service to children, youth and the wider whānau.
 
He kōrero mōu: About you
Ideally holding a LIANZA professional registration or a teacher registration in New Zealand, you will bring with you a sound knowledge of library technologies and processes, enthusiasm, and an ability to collaborate in the development, implementation and delivery of services and programmes. As this is a role that involves working with children and youth, you will have the natural ability to relate well with people of all ages and backgrounds, excellent communication, and strong digital and readers advisory skills are essential.
