Senior Librarian - Children & Youth

 

He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

This role is vital for connecting children, youth, and whānau with library services and programmes. You will be responsible for developing and delivering programmes and events for tamariki and rangatahi that are innovative, responsive, and engaging. This Senior Librarian - Children & Youth role has additional leadership responsibilities in supporting the team. Point Chevalier Library opens 6 days a week so flexibility around working days is required. This is a permanent position working 40 hours a week and is currently rostered to work one day every weekend.

 

This position will require you to be flexible as you may need to work from other sites within the local board areas, such as Epsom, Mount Roskill, and Mount Albert.

 

He kōrero mōu: About you 

We are seeking an experienced librarian with LIANZA professional registration.

You will bring a sound knowledge of library technologies and processes, enthusiasm, and an ability to collaborate in the development, implementation and delivery of library services and programmes.

 

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with young people, their whānau, schools, and community stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with technology and supporting customers in using information resources and devices.
  • Creativity in designing and delivering innovative programmes and events.
  • Strong children and youth readers advisory skills

We are expecting to appoint the successful candidate between $73,000 - $86,000 depending on experience.
