He angitūtanga: The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced project manager to champion a long-term strategic approach to projects that address water quality issues.

You’ll scope and deliver a range of water quality improvement projects in partnership with communities and establish partnerships with key stakeholders and nurture opportunities to work together for improved water management outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to increase community awareness around the understanding of water quality issues and build a sense of community ownership and guardianship of local waterways. You’ll provide specialist engagement expertise to drive local and regional collaborative programmes and projects with local boards, landowners, community groups, schools, iwi and others

We’re looking for an experienced specialist that thrives on challenges and has excellent communication skills. With a background in community engagement, project delivery and riparian restoration, you’ll have a strategic understanding of engagement principles and behaviour change initiatives. You’re a proven influencer, comfortable leading engagement programmes and using effective communication tools. A natural collaborator, we’ll value your proven relationship building and communication expertise as you’ll be working with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.

You’ll also have a relevant qualification in applied science, environmental management, resource management, community development, participatory research or social science and Maori studies (or other related area).
