He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

Severe weather events in January and February 2023 have had a devastating and lasting impact on many communities and thousands of individuals across Tāmaki Makaurau. Flooding and landslips have damaged or destroyed homes and disrupted lives and communities.

 

Auckland Council’s Recovery Office has an opportunity for a fixed term full time Senior Grant Advisor to join the team until February 2026 for Maternity leave cover. This role reports to Category 2P Programme Manager.

 

The purpose of this role is to manage the 2P grants process; manage the stakeholder relationships for our weather affected homeowners and contribute to the overall outcome of 2P programme - enabling Tamaki Makaurau to recover from the devastating effects of Cyclone Gabrielle.

 

You will be responsible for the timely processing of the grant applications, maintaining good communications with the stakeholders, and monitoring the disbursement of grant funds. You will ensure all processes and procedures adhere to the relevant regulations and guidelines. 

 

You could expect to work on:

 

  • Monitoring and reporting the progress and finance status of the scheme.
  • Initiate and manage process and procedure improvement initiatives.
  • Direct engagement with Homeowners, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
  • Overall programme coordination and case management.
  • Maintain accurate records of all applications, grants, and project outcomes

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

We are looking for someone who is deeply committed to the recovery efforts for Tāmaki Makaurau. 

 

This role requires strong analytical, communication and project coordination skills to process, monitor and report substantial budgets for large complex programmes of work.

 

You will have strong relationship management skills to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders such as homeowners, technical experts, senior leadership. You will manage the communication between all stakeholders and monitor the progress of each application and project to identify potential issues.

 

To be successful in this role you will be well versed in key legislation, policy, and process relevant to the application and approval of the grant scheme. 

 

We are specifically looking for:

 

  • Experience in a complex programme environment or similar grants processing environment.
  • Experience writing and reviewing standard operation procedures and business improvement process that can be understood by a range of audiences.
