He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Transformational change requires fresh and innovative thinking about how we engage and communicate with Aucklanders. At Panuku, we work with our communities and partners to achieve great outcomes for our city. 

In this role you’ll create and implement strategies on behalf of the Community and Stakeholder Relations directorate. 

You’ll see these strategies through from generating ideas with a team of skilled professionals, to overseeing implementation, to being accountable for the outcomes. 

You’ll be the face of the directorate, giving expert advice on how to best engage with people in our neighbourhoods. Whether it’s using a media statement, a stakeholder briefing or an innovative digital media campaign, you’ll know the best way to reach your audiences. 

You’ll be a communications, engagement and marketing generalist looking for a role where you’re able to facilitate creative thinking, project manage others and hold significant relationships across Panuku and beyond.

You are: 
-    Collaborative. You know how to involve the right people at the right time to maximise expertise and creative thinking.
-    Curious. You’re inquisitive about your neigbourhoods, the many disciplines required to best serve your communities and urban regeneration.
-    Strategic. You’re able to identify any issues and risks, and build plans to leverage or mitigate them. You can align with wider business objectives including resourcing, budgeting and reporting. 
-    Relationship-led. You have the skills to build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with a wide range of people from your programme director to politicians, to internal stakeholders, to community groups. 
-    Passionate. You believe in the work we do and are proud when yourself, your colleagues or the organisation achieves success.

You have: 
-    10+ years’ experience working in communications and/or engagement
-    5+ years’ experience working within a large organisation, preferably in local government
-    Experience with complex and often competing stakeholder landscapes
-    Proven experience in building good relationships and providing sound advice
-    A good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Āo Māori
